We’ve conducted extensive research in crafting our tutoring solution, ensuring it aligns with the academic needs of today’s students and school systems. Our efficacy is backed by data collected from multiple school districts, showing measurable improvements in student performance. This evidence-based approach ensures our programs deliver real, lasting results.
Partnering with Instructure, a third-party edtech research company, it was found that K12 Tutoring satisfies Level II requirements (Moderate Evidence) of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
In a 2025 study, it was shown that students who received K12 Tutoring demonstrated significantly higher end-of-year NWEA MAP Growth math RIT scores than their peers who did not participate.
Further regression analysis examined the effect of tutoring intensity on math MAP Growth. The findings revealed a positive and statistically significant relationship, with students who received high-dosage tutoring (> 12 hours) experiencing the greatest academic gains.
During the 2023-2024 school year, over 800 students participated in math and ELL tutoring in grades 3-8. Non-tutored students saw a decrease in their scores on the Virginia SOL state math assessment from 2023 to 2024, whereas tutored students showed a significant increase indicating a shift in proficiency.
Notably, up to 29% of students who participated in ELA and math tutoring demonstrated significant academic growth, advancing from a “not proficient” status in 2023 to “proficient” in 2024, signifying their achievement of a passing score on the SOL.
Additionally, the data revealed a strong correlation between time spent in tutoring and improved performance, with each hour of math tutoring contributing to an increase of up to 4.8 points on SOL scores highlighting the effectiveness of our tutors and their personalized academic support.
In the Fall semester of 2024, K12 Tutoring deployed tutoring for a batch of students at Horizon Honors Schools, grade 7-9.
The data from this deployment has shown that, on average, tutored students experienced nearly double the expected growth (175%) from the beginning to the middle of the year, based on NWEA MAP Math Growth norms.
The largest observed growth was for Grade 9, at 276% higher observed growth than initial expectations. This exciting data has shown that our tutoring services properly primes students for their high school journey.
During the 2023-2024 schools year, K12 Tutoring deployed over 4,600 hours of tutoring to Lone Star Online Academy.
In this program, 30% of students increased by at least 1 STAAR – ELA proficiency level. The average STAAR scale score seen in the 2023-2024 school year was 1323, whereas the 2023-2024 returned a score of 1406.
We believe every child deserves a personalized approach, which is why our tutors craft customized teaching plans that align with academic standards.
Whether you’re looking to boost confidence in struggling learners or challenge your high achievers, we’re here to partner with you in transforming educational outcomes. Let’s work together to unlock the potential in every student.
